The School Inspection Service is approved by the Department for Education (DfE) for the inspection of independent schools in England and British schools overseas. You can find additional information about SIS on the DfE’s website: dfes.gov.uk

The quality of our work is monitored by Ofsted on behalf of the DfE. Ofsted produces an annual report on the quality of our work. Ofsted’s latest annual report on SIS inspections for the academic year 2014- 2015 was published on 16/11/15. This and previous reports can be viewed on Ofsted’s website:

Making a complaint

Should you have a complaint about the conduct of an inspection by the School Inspection Service, you should read the SIS Complaints Procedure document. If you remain dissatisfied after the normal procedure has been completed, you can appeal to the Independent Complaints Adjudicator who will provide a definitive ruling on any complaints relating to inspections carried out by the service. Please note that the Adjudicator is not the first port of call for handling complaints and will not enter into the matter until the previous routes for complaints have been exhausted.

If you wish to get in touch with the Independent Complaints Adjudicator, please contact us directly and we will refer on your complaint:
